Members • Crambo1000हिन्दीDeutschSummer 2026 - Prague, Italy or Japan? Hi all! My fiancee has given me three choices for our honeymoon in late July/early August next year. They all seem amazing, and I've been putting together itineraries and pro/con lists for each one, but I'm still struggling to pick! Any thoughts are appreciated. Here's what I would want to do in each place: ITALY (florence, Tuscany and Cinque terre) cooking class/food tour Tuscany - wineries Cinque terre - beach time and shopping Apuan alps Florence museums - duomo, uffizi, etc JAPAN (Kyoto, Hakone and Tokyo) 3 days in Kyoto, 2 in Hokone with onsens, 1 day in Tokyo feed the deer (Nara) hike Mt Fuji Kirby cafe torii Gates tea ceremony Japanese jazz bar
hike Bohemian Switzerland national Park - cabin stay overnight Jewish quarter Prague Castle -astrononical clock klementinum library national gallery
Here are the pros and cons I've put together for each place (mostly pros)
JAPAN PRO When else would we go, since it's so far away and intensive aside from the flight it's relatively cheap rn because of the Yen JAPAN CON long distance could be really hot and humid that time of year more travel required (I've read that the shinkansen might be closed that time of year?) ITALY PRO best food possibly most romantic, stereotypically gluten without the consequences, supposedly (she's gluten intolerant, though not so much that it would be an issue) beaches and mountains ITALY CON Hot, though not as humid as Japan lack of a/c? PRAGUE PRO cheapest closest/easiest flight cooler weather in summer possibly the most relaxing PRAGUE CON food doesn't seem as interesting as the other places Any thoughts? Pros or cons we haven't thought of? Must see items that would sway the decision? Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. choloepushofmanni • 7mo ago Italy is actually really good for gluten free but it will be way too hot (28/29 this week in Florence), as will Japan.
So I’d pick Prague out of your three. Crambo1000 • 7mo ago I'm a little worried about the heat - do you think being in the mountains and the beach for different parts of the trip will help? My hope is that those will mitigate the heat, and failing that we eat tons of gelato choloepushofmanni • 7mo ago The beach will be super crowded with Italians trying to escape the heat. You’d have a great time doing that trip in September or
